This will probably always be chewy and I have put the drinking window earlier than it might otherwise be to avoid the risk of this drying out with extended bottle age
this is in no danger of falling apart but I foresee the balance becoming more fragile
it needs another 5 years or so in the cellar
The palate is very elegant
dark tobacco and minerals
Chandon de Briailles, Corton Clos Roi Vintage:2013 This will probably always be(this has the highest average vine age of these grands crus at 40+ years of age). This is classic Clos du Roi with the hallmark intense sauvage character that suffuses this wine from head to toe. The ripe nose of red and dark berry fruit is abundantly laced with earth and floral scents. The muscular, round and impressively scaled flavors possess excellent richness as well as plenty of wonderful tension before terminating in an explosive mineral
