Description
55% new oak
both components remain in barrel for 11 months
and I particularly like the purity of expression
(from 45+ year old vines that sit just above Champans)
but more mineral and earthy and less fragrant than previous vintages
Jacques Prieur, Corton Bressandes Vintage:2019 55% new oak(from a . 63 ha parcel; 30% whole clusters). A distinctly cool and restrained nose reluctantly offers up layered notes of plum, dark cherry and earth. I very much like the sense of energy to the well detailed and solidly concentrated broad shouldered flavors that also need to develop more depth but the underlying material is present such that this should be able to add complexity. I would add that this is a big 2017 and very Corton like. (90 93) 2032+
