Description
in a somehow more baroque way
The 2001 Vina Tondonia Reserva is bridled with a lovely nose of decayed red fruit
Note that this is very firmly structured and in need of at least a decade of keeping and should reward almost two
its only competition is the Asili Red Label
On the plus side the exceptionally rich and concentrated broad-shouldered flavors possess outstanding amounts of dry extract that impart a velvety texture to the plush finish that is slightly sweet due to the generous wood treatment
Camille Giroud, Charmes Chambertin Vintage:2016 in a somehow more baroque(from Charmes proper). Here too the menthol character isnt subtle though neither is it especially invasive on the layered aromas of blue and red pinot fruit, spice and prominent earth and forest floor nuances. The rich, caressing and nicely dense medium bodied flavors possess a sleek muscularity while exhibiting focused power on the delicious, balanced and lingering finale. This will need to add depth to achieve the upper end of my predicted range.
