It's in a quiet place now but will open up again over time

Made after very long ageing in different oak vats and barrels

Not  as ripe as I would have expected

the 2001 Vigna d'Alceo remains a behemoth

The concentrated, powerful and serious larger scaled flavors are overtly muscular though the exceptionally tannic and somewhat tough finish disrupts the balance. The density is impressive as is the power but this is likely to dry out before the tannins resolve, which is why I suggest that this be drunk over the next few years with
